Hi New Friends,

We want to invite you to come and play in our Kamp K-9 off leash dog park and agility play area. It's located right by the store so after a long ride you can just get out and play. Building the dog park is one of the many projects Dad has accomplished here at Copake KOA.

We are on a leash at all times, except in the play area, even when riding in the truck or on a golf cart. That's because Rudy likes to try and chase squirrels. I find the woodchucks interesting myself. I haven't spotted a skunk but Mom says there are some. There are lots of deer, red fox and wild turkey on the property too. In short always being on a leash keeps us mostly out of trouble.

We wanted to suggest that you make sure your human parents get you a Lyme disease vaccination if you have not had one as there are a lot of deer ticks in this area. Be sure they bring your rabies certificate with them. Try not to wiggle too much so they can comb you and check for ticks while you are visiting with us. Rudy hates having his hair combed. I on the other hand know it makes me look more beautiful when my coat is combed so I don't mind.

Mom and Dad always have a plastic bag in their pocket just in case we need to go potty at a time different than normal. Sometimes if we have been traveling in the fifth wheel for a few days, our systems get out of sorts and we are completely off schedule. Our parents always clean up after us.

We know how tempting it is to get barky at people and other dogs. However, since we are all here together as a group, you have to remember that if you don't behave, then you have to go home. If you know you are the really barky aggressive type then please don't come at all. Our owners have to breed restrict Rottweilers, Pit Bulls and other aggressive breeds as it is an insurance company requirement.

Mom organizes a "Cutest Family Pet Contest", every Fourth of July weekend. So invite all of your dog, cat, hamster, rabbit and gerbil friends to join us. I know the Grand Prize is a free weekend camping trip to come back to Copake KOA.

We have lots of fun here at Copake KOA and are looking forward to having you here with us. Mom has dog treats under the counter that you can have at check in if your Mom and Dad say you can have one.
